Allegany County is set to receive a $300,000 grant from the New York State Office of Community Renewal’s Micro-Enterprise Program. The Allegany County Industrial Development Agency (ACIDA) will oversee the distribution of these funds, providing grants ranging from $10,000 to $35,000 to support new and growing small businesses in the region.
Eligible businesses must have five or fewer employees and meet specific criteria. The grants can be used for various business needs, excluding construction, and require a 10% cash match from recipients. Applicants must either qualify as low- or moderate-income or create jobs accessible to individuals within those income brackets.
To qualify, applicants must also complete an entrepreneurship training program. ACIDA is collaborating with ACCORD Corporation and Incubator Works to offer the necessary training.
Applications are now available on the ACIDA website and must be submitted by 4:00 PM on January 10, 2025. Visit www.acida.org to apply.
